Danny Tesar

Mr. Danny Tesar

Technology Coordinator

August 20, 2007

I am a technology coordinator for Educational Service Unit #5 in Beatrice.  In an effort to satisfy budgets, I am shared between two school districts; those two being Thayer Central Community Schools and Tri County Public Schools.  For the two districts I am in charge of planning, purchasing, installing, managing, and troubleshooting all of the technologies in place in the districts, as well as training staff, developing technology curriculum, and creating and enforcing technology policies.  Between the two districts, I am in charge of 525 computers, 10 servers, and 900 users.

My Alma Matter(s)
I am originally from DeWitt, Nebraska and have lived there my whole life.  I attended Tri County Schools grades K-12 and graduated in 2000.  In 2004, I graduated from Doane College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems and a minor in Business Administration.  I received my Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed.) degree in Instructional Technology from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2007.

My Experience
The 2007-08 school year is my 4th year here at Thayer Central.  Though I am shared between districts, I have worked with the technology at Tri County since 1995 when I was in 8th grade.  In the spring of 2002, I was hired as the technology coordinator (part-time) as I studied through college.  During college, I also held the position of student network administrator for Doane College.  I have also done contracting work for Bunge Milling (Crete Mills), Beatrice Public Schools, and many home users.  I started with ESU 5 in August 2004.

My Family
My parents live in DeWitt and my sister lives in Geneva with her family.  My favorite hunting and fishing companion is my yellow Lab, Skeeter.

My Hobbies
In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, hunting, trapping, shooting sports, gardening, DIY home improvement, 4-wheeling, internet research, and helping out at my church.
