Mrs. Lange

by Blythe Wegener

August 23, 2007

I am Mrs. Lange. I am currently one of two teachers teaching 4th grade at Thayer Central Public Schools. I have been a resident of the Thayer County area all of my life, and I’ve been a teacher for 36 years. I received my BA in Elementary Education from Peru State College at Peru, Nebraska. Through out my teaching at Thayer Central/Hebron Public Schools, I have taught both first and second grade students. My teaching philosophy has changed over the years with the constant changing needs in children’s academics, such as the Nebraska State Standards. My teaching includes a balance between school and home. The academics that are taught are in my classroom usually work better if the children and the parents work together in the home on the topics that are taught. As the teacher in the classroom it is important to let children express their ideas through oral articulation and written language which helps develop their cognitive thinking skills. This communication enables them to reflect on what they know and demonstrate this knowledge to others. This also helps the children in the classroom to express themselves in a constructive artistic way, which also helps with interpersonal skills such as making friends.
