What grade/subject do you teach?
I am currently teaching 3rd grade.
How many years have you taught? Where at?
This is my 24th year teaching, I taught one year in Lincoln and then I moved to California where I taught for 22 years.
What’s your favorite thing about Thayer Central?
(Lunch, kids, sports, etc.)
. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I love that there is music and PE, at the school I used to teach at they had no music teacher or PE teacher.
What do you think makes Thayer Central special?
I think the students, their families and the staff make Thayer Central special.
What’s your favorite thing about the community?
(Parent involvement, attendance to games/programs, world’s largest porch swing etc.)
We are loving everythingabout the community. Everyone has been helpful and friendly. We love being close to my mom and uncle.
What’s some advice you would like to give to students?
Always do your best!!
What high school did you graduate from? College?
I graduated from Geneva High School and from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.
Who’s your hero?
I have two heros; my mom and dad.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
I would love to travel to Germany. My brother and his family and my husband’s aunts, uncles, and cousins all live in Germany.
What’s your favorite pastime?
I love to hang out with my family. Our favorite family activity is boating and camping.
Tell a little about your family.
My husband is a California native. He is originally from Simi Valley, CA. I have two wonderful children. Robert is 10 years old and is in the 5th grade. Mary Ruth is 6 and is in first grade. I have a really fun family!
