Me with a few of our winning bridges

While many things have changed, some things have stayed the same. My name is still Bryan Solomon and I am still teaching science in Room 7 at the high school. Now on to some of the more important issues, I am currently in my 12th year of teaching at Thayer Central High School/Hebron High School. I'm currently teaching the usual Physics, Chemistry, Physical Science, and Science Olympiad. I have expanded my horizons this year, as I am teaching a Decoding class. I think they wanted to challenge me this year. One thing that makes Thayer Central a special place, is the effort that the students put into making themselves better. We have gone to UNL and participated in the State Science Olympiad competition and placed in the top 10 (losing only to Class A and B schools). We have had numerous state champions in individual events. In Physics, we have won the individual Bridge building competition in 2005 ? 2007 and won the team trophy in 2005 and 2007. When given a challenge, a lot of the students rise to the challenge to compete at a high level. In my spare time, I enjoy watching college sports. If the Huskers are on TV, I am probably watching it. I enjoy playing fantasy football. And if the kids bug me enough, I will play video games with them. As for my family, I have been married to my wife Joy for 11 years. We have 2 children, Shevin, age 7, and Kaisha, age 4.
