Reading Round-Up

Yippee-Ky-Yay! We’ve rounded up the Thayer Central Cowboys and Cowgirls for a new reading adventure. “Reading Round Up” is the theme for the 2008 Thayer Central R. E. A. D. program. Guest speakers Wade Heinrichs and Amber Hawkins brought their saddles, bridles and other items and told the elementary students about equipment you would need to be a cowboy/cowgirl and take care of your horse. “Cleatus Wiedel”
(Elementary Principal Kurk Wiedel) the world famous cowboy TV star, hosted “Western Feud.” Two teams of teachers and students from Thayer Central Elementary school competed and shared their Western Knowledge about horses, round-ups, famous cowboy songs; of course all the students know that the best thing to take on a trail ride is a BOOK. Thayer Central Elementary Students were given badges and their read books as they round up a herd of bodacious books and complete their Reading Round Up R.E.A.D Goals. READ’em Cowboys!
