Ed Weir Invitational Results

Thayer Central attended the Ed Weir Invite this past weekend. The lady Titans placed 3^rd scoring 54.5 points and the boys placing 1^st scoring 105.5. Other teams who attended were Fairbury, Superior, and Franklin.

The field events scored well for both the boys and the girls.

The lady Titans had 3 medalists in the shot put, Melissa Bulin 1^st with a throw of 33’ 5.5’, Emily Retzlaff 2^nd, and Jessica Kroll 4^th. Discus was also a big event for the ladies with 2 medals, Jessica Kroll placing 3^rd with a throw of 101’ ½’, and Melissa Bulin placing 6^th. Sheila Heitmann placed 3^rd with a jump of 4’ 4’’ in the high jump and also placing in the high jump was Paige Cottam in 5^th.

The boys had an amazing morning in field events. Destry Kenning placed 1^st in pole vault with a vault of 11’ 6’’ and Derrick Gandara placed 6^th. Seth Wiedel placed 1^st in both the long and triple jumps. Long jump he jumped 21’ 1’’ and triple jump 43’’10 ½’. In the high jump Jeffery Bantam placed 5^th with a jump of 5’6’’. In throwing events Traygan Mumford placed 3^rd in shot put with a throw of 38’ 5’’. In the discus, Michael O’Neal placed 1^st with a throw of 120’ 9’’ and James Long also placed in 6^th with 104’ 8’’.

The Titans will have a busy meet schedule the week after break. Tuesday, March 25 they will attend the Wilber Clatonia Invitational and Thursday the 27 the Titans Host the Thayer Central Invitational.
