Rachel Heitmann Wins Essay Competition

Rachel Heitmann, a fifth grader at Thayer Central Elementary, was awarded first place in the Nebraska Mothers Association 2008 Essay Competition. Rachel received a medal and a trophy at a special Recognition Day ceremony held at the State Capitol on Friday, April 4th. Her entry will now advance to the national competition.
Rachel’s essay titled, “What my Mother Means to Me,” was selected as the winner out of over 300 entries statewide. Her essay, along with the other entries, will be posted in the State Office Building through the month of May.
