DISTRICT MUSIC RESULTS

Thayer Central students attended the annual District Music Contest on April 19th & 20th. The contest was held at Heartland Community Schools in Henderson.
Vocal soloists receiving a superior rating were: Kyle Evans, Caleb Kenner and Courtney Yoachim. Ethan Moeller earned an excellent rating with his vocal solo as did Jeffrey Bantam with a trumpet solo. Three vocal duets garnered the superior rating. Singers were Nikki Degenhardt, Kirsten VanCleef, Michaela Marsh, Kelsey Loontjer, Kyle Evans and Destry Kenning . The flute duet of Sonia Ayala and Jenica Jarchow received a superior rating as did the flute trio of Courtney Yoachim, Megan Reece and Kelsey Loontjer. The flute duet of Michaela Marsh and Kelsey Mumm received an excellent rating. Courtney Yoachim also received a superior rating on her piano solo. Rounding out the Thursday night entries was the M:ixed Octet which earned an excellent rating.
All large groups perform on Friday. These groups are judged by three judges. If all three judges feel the performance merits a superior rating, the group gets a superior plus rating and a plaque. The Rhthmaires, Boys Ensemble and Mixed Chorus all received a superior plus rating. The Girls Ensemble also performed on Friday and received an excellent rating. The Stage Band and Concert Band received excellent ratings.
