FCCLA

Members of the Thayer Central Community Schools FCCLA (Family,
Career & Community Leaders of America) Chapter and Mrs. Cheryl
Uhrmacher attended the annual FCCLA State Leadership Conference
April 6-7 in Lincoln. “A Person’s A Person No Matter How Small,
FCCLA is for Every and All” was the theme of the two-day
conference. FCCLA is an organization of family and consumer
sciences students. Approximately 1,250 delegates from 109 chapters
attended.
Seven of the members attending participated in the STARS
competition on Monday. Tarryn Tietjen earned gold in Illustrated
Talk, Morgan Fangmeier earned silver in Recycle & Design,
Bridgette Baden & Ashley Peterson also silver in Interpersonal
Communication, and Hannah Kerns & Olga Merida Herrera earned a
bronze in Focus on Children. Other members attending were Megan
Reece, Kelsey Mumm, and Chelsea Baden.
