Titans JV Boys Win Two

The Thayer Central Titans junior varsity boys ran their record to 3-2 on the year as they defeated host Heartland 50-30 on Friday and visiting Tri County 55-36 on Saturday. The Titans utilized a balanced scoring attack and some improving defense to post the two wins.
On Friday the Titans led 18-6 after one quarter and didn't look back. Leading the way for the Titans were junior Kesston Fink and freshmen Dietrich Brinegar and Macaulay Mumm. Fink and Brinegar scored 9 points each, while Mumm added 8.Brinegar led the Titans rebounders with six boards while fellow freshan Kalen Wenske and sophomore Brayden Hergott each grabbed four. Mumm, Wenske and Fink also registered two steals a piece.
On Saturday the Titans saw an early lead evaporate, but held on and subsequently pulled away in the second half to the victory. Leading the Titans offensively were freshman Kalen Wenske and junior Kesston Fink. Wenske led all scorers with 17 points while Fink added 12 in limited action. Sophomore Brayden Hergott added 6 points and a trio of freshmen, Dietrich Brinegar, Cody Mumm and Macaulay Mumm added five points a piece. Wenske led all rebounders with six while Fink and Hergott each posted five.
