Titans JV boys Drop Two
January 19, 2010
The Thayer Central boys junior varsity team found the going rough last weekend as they dropped two games. The Titans fell to host Sutton on Friday by a score of 54-36, and to Milford on Saturday by a score of 36-33. With last weekend's games the Titans record stands at 4-4 on the season.
On Friday, the Titans started well, but couldn't sustain their effort against Sutton. Juniors Andrew Craig and Dylan Long led the Titans with 6 points a piece. Junior Kesston Fink added 4 points, as did sophomore Brayden Hergott and freshman Cody Mumm. Hergott and Long led the Titans rebounders with 4 each.
On Saturday, an improved effort allowed the Titans to stay close, but a late follow on a missed shot by Milford allowed them to escape with the victory. Sophomore Brayden Hergott led all Titans scorers with 10 points. Junior Andrew Craig added 7, while freshman Macaulay Mumm scored 5. Freshman Kalen Wenske led all rebounders with nine. Hergott added five and freshman Dietrich Brinegar grabbed four.
The Titans will next see action on Thursday and Saturday of this week as they will host the Superior Wildcats on Thursday and will travel to Sandy Creek on Saturday. Both games will tip at 4:30 pm.
