Titans JV Boys Split Games

The Thayer Central boys JV team split last weekends games. The Titans defeated visiting Superior on Thursday by a score of 60-27, and lost to host Sandy Creek on Saturday by a score of 50-38. With these games, the Titans record stands at 5-5 on the season.
On Thursday, the Titans outscored the Wildcats in the middle two quarters, 34-7 to seal the victory. Leading the Titans was junior Kesston Fink who scored 18 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Freshman Macaulay Mumm and Kalen Wenske added 10 and 9 points respectively. Wenske and classmate Trenton Tietjen each grabbed 4 rebounds. Junior guard Andrew Craig and freshman center Brian Loontjer each added 3 assists.
On Saturday, a bad first quarter allowed the Cougars to mount a lead the Titans could not overcome. Leading the Titans offensively were freshmen Macaulay Mumm and Kalen Wenske. Mumm scored a game high 15 points on 7 of 14 shooting, while Wenske added 8 and grabbed 4 rebounds. Sophomore guard Brayden Hergott added 5 steals, while freshman Gregory Dightman dished out 4 assists.
