Titans Freshman Place Second

The Thayer Central Titans freshman boys finished second in the Superior Invite last week. The young Titans defeated the host Superior team, 34-9, and lost to Deshler`s freshman and sophomores in the title game by a score of 34-26. With these two games, the Titans record stands at 4 wins against 1 loss for the season.
Against Superior, the Titans led 24-5 at half time and didn`t look back. The Titans were led by Macaulay Mumm and Greg Dightman. Mumm scored 9 points and Dightman added 6. Kalen Wenske hit for 5, and Brian Loontjer and Dietrich Brinegar scored 3. Russ Heitmann added 5 reboundes, while Trenton Tietjen grabbed 3.
In the championship game, the Titans were led by Mumm and Dightman who each scored 6 points. Wenske added 4, while Tietjen and Brinegar added 3 each. Mumm grabbed 4 rebounds, while tietjen, Heitmann and Loontjer added 3.
