On February 9, sixty-eight Thayer Central students participated in the annual American Mathematics Competition (AMC). The contest is divided into two sections—one for freshman and sophomore mathematics students and the other for juniors and seniors. In each section students are given 25 multiple choice questions to solve. Points are awarded for correct answers and un-attempted problems, while no points are granted for incorrect answers. The mathematician with the highest point total is announced as the champion.
