Thayer Central Harriers Prepare for Opening Meet

The TC Cross Country edition for 2010 will be a big splash of senior-led experience with a mixture of newcomers. The Titans will be led by Kesston Fink, a state qualifier in his sophomore year who is running hungry in his last season at Thayer Central. Kesston will be joined by fellow seniors and letter winners Nathan Seaman and Andrew Craig. Clinton Rosencrans and Joseph Dougherty are the other male participants in the senior class and in their 4th year of Cross Country at TCCS. Ethan Friesen is a returning junior participant and Russ Heitmann is a returning sophomore runner. Hannah Kerns is the lone senior member of the girls’ squad and is joined by the Fresh women trio of Caryn Friesen, Sidney Goertzen and Bailey Linton. The new comers for the boys’ squad include junior transfer Jamie Brock and newcomer junior Stewart Beeman are out this year as are Freshmen Tyler Edwards and Heath Fink. Student managers include 6th graders Taelynn Virus and Collin Fink. The Titans are coached by Vic Jacobson in his 3rd year and will be joined by Andy Long as assistant coach. The Titans open the season at Superior on September 2 and will have a home meet September 23 at the Hebron Country Club at 4:30 pm
