Read Across America

Betty Meyer, Thayer Central library/Media Specialist, invited the 2019 Thayer Central High School National Honor Society Students to be guest readers to help Thayer Central Elementary students celebrate READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY on Friday March 1st.  The guest readers read a selection of stories to Pre-School through Sixth grade, handed out Read Across America book marks, and Cat in the Hat erasers. They told the students about themselves and why reading was important in their personal lives. Started in 1998,Read Across America, which the National Education Association sponsorshas become a national tradition over the years as a way to promote reading while celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday on March 2. Guest readers at Thayer Central Community Schools, included:  Mikaela Andersen, Kevin Burd, Keegan Casey, Dylan Fischer, Maggie Harris, Sydny Havel, Jarod Hergott, McKenzie Johnson, Jayden Leonard, Stephanie Meyer, Kylie Pachta, Shevin Solomon, Grace Souerdyke, Holly Timmerman, Yong Wang, Emily Welch, and Maddison Williams.
