Titans Place At State Speech Competition

Two Thayer Central Titans speakers placed in the top 3 at the Eastern Nebraska State Speech Contest.  Winning the state championship was seventh grader Christian Krupicka while 6th grader Adam Lukert took home the 3rd place trophy.  Both speakers qualified for the state contest with their speeches addressing the topic "challenges youth face".  Krupicka's winning speech spotlighted school shootings, while Lukert focused on technology addiction.  The state contest, featuring sixteen speakers from eastern Nebraska in grades 5-8, was hosted at Hebron's Majestic Theatre.
