Celebrate Halloween by Donating Blood!
The first quarter of the school year has been full of activity for Thayer Central High School Student Council members. They have been busy planning for Homecoming week and other future activities here at school. One special upcoming event is the October blood drive conducted by the Nebraska Community Blood Bank. The blood drive will once again take place on October 31st from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. in the parking lot north of the high school building. Student Council members are currently recruiting donors and are hoping that you will consider giving blood on this date if you are able. While appointments are preferred, walk-ins are also welcome.
One change this year is that 16-year-old students may donate if they meet the weight requirements and have a signed permission form from a parent. If your student is interested in giving back to the community in this way, we would love to have him or her donate with your permission. If you have questions or concerns about your student donating or if you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact Staci Hergott or Lara Harms at 402-768-6117.
Blood donation saves lives and requires very little time or effort. The Student Council members appreciate the support the community has shown in the past for these blood drives, and they look forward to a successful blood drive on Halloween and again in March!
