Important Things to Remember

1. Don’t wait until the last minute to apply.  Many scholarships require essays, recommendation letters and/or references.  These things take time.  

2. When asking for recommendation letters, please give the person 2-3 weeks to get this done and give them a activities resume’ to help them remember the things that you have done.  

3. If listing a person as a reference, please contact them first and ask permission to use their name, address and phone number.

Always use word processor or type your application unless otherwise specified.  There is a typewriter in the library if you need one.

NAIFA - Hastings Scholarship

Must be interested in study of education, business/management/finance, marketing/sales, or actuarial studies; and preference given to those who attend a Nebraska university, college, or community college.  Must have an above-average grade point average in high school.  Must demonstrate good character, leadership, and interest in furthering their education.

UNL Conservation Scholarship

Must attend UNL.  Career field interest includes: Soil Conservationist, Soil Scientist, Rangeland Management Specialist, and Civil/Agricultural Engineer.

SCC Davis Chambers Scholarship
