Second Place State Honors for Thayer Central Bridge Builders
The Thayer Central bridge builders competed in the 40th annual Nebraska model bridge competition. The team came away with a 2nd place team finish with a combined efficiency of 5752.8. Individual placers included: Kevin Burd had a bridge that weighed 16.2 grams and held 49.7 pounds for an efficiency of 1391.6 and 9th place. Jarod Hergott and Emily Welch had a bridge that weighed 16.2 grams and held 57.1 pounds for an efficiency of 1598.8 and 7th place. McKenzie Johnson and Katelyn Richardson had a bridge that weighed 18.1 grams and held 121.7 pounds (scaled back to the maximum weight of 110 pounds for efficiency) for an efficiency of 2762.43 and 2nd place. McKenzie and Katelyn’s bridge will now move on to the national competition to held in Baltimore, Maryland on Saturday, April 6th.
