The Thayer Central FFA chapter took ten members to State FFA Convention which was held from April 4th- 6th. The members got the opportunity to go to many workshops and tour different places, including a behind the scenes tour of the Lincoln Children’s Zoo. The Agronomy team placed forty second out of one hundred eight team earning a red ribbon as a team. Logan Luehring placed forty fifth and received a blue ribbon. Keith Hergott placed one hundred twenty fourth and received a red ribbon. Reata Elting placed two hundred ninety third and Taylor Koss placed three hundred sixty eighty out of four hundred twenty nine contestants. Friday morning the members participated in the Living to Serve: Meal Packing Service Project, with Union Bank, where they prepared 50,000 fortified macaroni and cheese “Meals of Hope.” During convention the chapter was recognized for their work with the Farm Bureau's Foundation Connecting Chapters program. And for participating in the ‘I Believe In The Future of Agriculture’ program with our Labor Auction earnings being matched, receiving and extra nine hundred forty five dollars. The members had a great time and were very thankful for the opportunity to learn from people working in the Agriculture fields.
