Automated Call System
We all would have to admit that we were once like our children...sitting by the phone on a snowy night hoping for the phone call from the superintendent saying that there would not be school the next day.
We could only hope that we never have to worry about a call from the automated system because of the weather. For those new to Thayer Central, our school has used the automated calling system for the past several years. It has been a great tool to alert school personnel, students, and parents about school closures, late starts, early releases, and other important time sensitive announcements.
The school office updates the system using the phone numbers listed on the emergency notification forms returned at the beginning of the school year. It is important to let the school know of any changes to phone numbers so we can be sure you are notified when the need arises.
Also, keep in mind that school starts at 10:15 when there is a two hour late start. Sometimes there is some confusion and many think it is at 10:00. Another reminder is that breakfast IS NOT SERVED on late start mornings.
