This year's theme for Thayer Central's Cancer Awareness was "Never Give Up - We Fight Cancer in All Colors." Many students, staff, and fans purchased t-shirts with the theme. Cross Country held their cancer awareness at their only home meet. Volleyball held their cancer awareness at their volleyball game with Centennial by hosting a basket raffle and showing a video before the game. The cancer awareness campaign finished up with football's "Pink Out" as they hosted Tri County. A raffle was held that night for blankets that some of the senior athletes made. The cheerleaders also performed with their Little Titan cheerleaders after having a camp earlier in the week.
All of these activities helped raise money that will be used to send gift cards to people currently in their cancer battle, purchase gift cards for the hospital to hand out to those receiving treatment, donate to the Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk and purchase items to put in children's boxes that Cordelia's Courage sends to children battling cancer in memory of Cordelia Mumm.
The fall student athletes would like to thank everyone that bought a t-shirt or raffle ticket, as well as donated items for the raffle or made a monetary donation. The Titan Community is strong and exemplifies the theme of "No One Fights Alone!"
