Three Thayer Central sophomores traveled to Kearney on January 17th to participate in the Kearney Underclassmen Honor Band. Elle Sudbeck, Kinley Casey, and Barrett Kiburz (pictured left to right) were nominated by their director, Ms. Seifert, and chosen to participate. Students from 60 Nebraska schools made up two large bands. Rehearsals took place during the day and a concert was held in the evening.
Two high school band students and one 8th grade student participated in the Wayne State College Honor Band on Saturday, January 29th. These students had to prepare a music audition and submit a recording to judges in order to be selected. They rehearsed in the student center and Rice Auditorium on campus and held a concert that afternoon. Congratulations to Krista Hartley, James Bonar, and Taylor Broers for being selected to participate.
