First grade has been having fun learning about space! We “traveled” through space to learn about each of the eight planets, created models of the moon with Play-dough, and learned about why the moon changes every night. Students answered questions and played race to the moon in our rocket ships. We also explored the distance between planets by modeling a solar system. To end our unit we made rocket ships and blasted them off to outer space. We also learned and created constellations that we see in the night time sky.
