In the span of 7 days, the Thayer Central Music Department will have completed (or be in the midst of) 6 different contests and/or events. On Thursday, March 17th the JH band and choir celebrated St. Patrick’s Day at the Malcolm Music Contest. Friday, the 18th, the 6th grade band performed at Malcolm. On Saturday the 19th, 2 honor bands took place: York Middle School Honor Band and the Class C All-State Band. Participating in the York band were: Kaitlynn Cast, Alex Hammer, Mackenzie Hergott, Aydrian Meyer, Katelynn Rogers and Wyatt Winans. Participating in Class C All-State was Krista Hartley. The 5th and 6h grade operetta, “Summer Camp,” takes place on Tuesday, March 22nd at 7:00. Lastly, high school band and choir students leave for their Chicago music trip on Thursday, March 24th. If you see a music student, be sure to congratulate them on a job well done!
