With the recent case of Measles diagnosed in Lancaster County, Thayer Central wanted families to have more information regarding the signs and symptoms of Measles and what to do if you suspect you or your child may have been exposed or are showing symptoms.

After learning about the letter "Qq" this week. Kindergarten attended a wedding this morning for Mr. Q and Ms. U. Students watched Q and U take their vows to always be together when the "qu" sound is at the beginning of words. While waiting for the reception to start, we read words with the "qu" sound and created a crown. To get the celebration started we created wedding cakes, then got to enjoy some! We watched Q and U do their first dance, Mrs. U had her bouquet toss, and we finished the morning having a dance party at our reception! The guests also decorated a square to be used to create a quilt to gift to the newly wed "QU" couple.

The Titans of TC will head north to wrangle the Broncos of Centennial on the court! Let's Go Titans!!

The Senior Career/Life Skills class took part in a self-defense class this week and learned some basic escape techniques. Michael (Thayer Central Alum) & Christy Hawkins, who own the Hebron Jiu Jitsu & MMA gym, demonstrated some different escape strategies that people can utilize when they find themselves in scary situations. Students had the ability to partner with another student and learn how to apply these techniques on one another. This was a great learning opportunity for our students!

Mrs. Kugel's class had a great 100th Day of School! They made a list of 100 words they can read & write, tested if a lollipop would be gone after 100 licks, wrote what they'd do with $100 , found 100 Hershey Kisses in the classroom (2 are still missing!) and rounded out the day making a 100 piece snack mix!

In February, the Thayer Central Youth Basketball Tournaments will take place for grades 3-8. Girls play on 2/21 and Boys on 2/22. See flier for details!

TITAN NATION: The 2026 Southern Nebraska Conference Basketball Brackets have been released!!

The Titan Boys Team will travel to Sutton on Monday (2/2) for a tilt verses the 'Stangs. Tip at 7:00 PM.

On Tuesday (2/3) the Titan Girls Team will HOST the winner of the Bronco-Wolverine contest. That game will tip at 7:00 PM as well.

💛💙District FFA contests were held at Thayer Central last week and the long awaited results are ready to share with the public! We would also like to thank everyone who helped host 500 kids and 7 different contests last week, it really was a team effort! Thank you 💙💛

Kindergarten wrapped up their Knowledge unit on "Kings and Queens." Students learned the roles and responsibilities of being a King and Queen and how they lived day to day. We read about Kings and Queens past and present, as well as some fun stories such as Cinderella, King Midas, and Snow White. We ended our learning by creating our own crowns, attending a catered dinner and danced at a royal ball.
