Today the Seniors in Senior Career/Life Skills learned about home maintenance as well as how to prepare to rent a home/apartment. Thank you to Jenna Gilbert and Rachel Adam from the UNL Extension Office for all of the awesome life lessons this semester!
A great day for our Titan students at Actions Day! 13 trophies brought home after the day of academic competition.
Miss Wiedel's 2nd graders enjoyed a visit from their pen pal. Our pen pal is a match from the Ag in the Classroom Program through the Nebraska Farm Bureau. Miss Wiedel has made this a part of her classroom for over 20 years. This year's pen pal lives near Palisade, Nebraska. We were so glad that Tessa & Anna Stinson could teach us about their ag operation. Tessa taught us a great Farm Bureau lesson about chickens. We listened to a book and enjoyed activities to gain knowledge and understanding. Each student also made a bracelet to help them remember what they learned. We had 3 lucky prize winners to special agriculture questions related to our lesson.
Thank you to NE Farm Bureau & Stinson Land & Cattle for reminding us how LUCKY we are to be surrounded by dedicated, hardworking farmers and ranchers along with abundant resources. We encourage everyone to thank a farmer or rancher this week as we celebrate National Agriculture Week- March 15-21, 2026.
We are so excited to announce our results from the C1-4 District Speech Meet yesterday. Our team finished 3rd overall with 130 combined points and 8 of 10 of our competitors came home with a medal!

Thayer Central juniors visited UNL yesterday. They had the opportunity to learn about admission requirements, what the day in the life of a college student looks like, take a campus tour and eat lunch in a cafeteria.
The Senior Career/Life Skills class has the opportunity to learn some basic laws that are important to understand as they leave high school and enter in their next phase of life! Thank you Deputy Geiger for the education and real life scenarios!

The freshmen attended a Connecting the Dots activity in Fairbury where they had the opportunity to explore careers, the amount of education needed for that career as well as what a good resume’ looks like and the different personality traits that describe them.

2nd grade had a blast celebrating their learning about Westward Expansion. We made quilts reflecting our learning and mini covered wagons. We also had a visit from Ranger Doug from the Homestead National Monument who presented the Buffalo Trunk.
