Mrs. Long's second graders wrapped up their War of 1812 unit this week. Each student wrote a persuasive letter to James Madison on either for or against going to war. We created "old timey" paper and used feather pens to write our letters. We also created origami boats to represent the USS Constitution. We used those origami skills again to create a James Rizzi river to accompany our "Rizzi City" that we made with Mrs. Baden earlier that week.

Mrs. Kowalski's Kindergarten class has been learning about the arctic and some animals that live there! This week we focused on Polar Bears! We learned a lot of cool facts about them, made a newspaper art project of one, and even watched a LIVE feed video of the polar bear at the Kansas City Zoo! If you see one of the Kindergarteners ask what fun fact they can give you about polar bears!

Second graders had a fun week of learning. We enjoyed creating RIZZI Buildings with Mrs. Baden. They are displayed near district office. Mrs. Pachta planned a fun AR celebration. Then we finished our WAR OF 1812 unit by writing letters to President Madison, Mrs. Dolley Madison, or General Andrew Jackson on some "old" paper. Thanks to the TC cooks for helping us make the paper look authentic.

Kindergarten just wrapped up their Knowledge Unit on "Kings and Queens." To celebrate all they have learned, they were invited to a "Royal Party." Students dressed in their best and were treated like royalty at their "Royal Dinner." They also created their own crowns, capes, and wore jewelry fit for a King or Queen. To end our party, we danced the day away at the "Royal Ball."
