Thayer Central Students Read for a Cause
Thayer Central students in grades 1-6 participated in a special reading challenge, spearheaded by Mrs. Baden, with a global impact in mind.
For every AR point earned, Anne and Clarence Baden pledged to donate 25 cents to World Central Kitchen, an organization dedicated to providing meals to children and families in need around the world. Teachers joined in too—contributing one dollar for every book they read during the quarter.
Students rose to the challenge, earning over 3,000 AR points, which translated into a $1,500 donation to World Central Kitchen.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the Badens for their continued support of Thayer Central students and global initiatives, and to the kitchen staff for making the celebration extra special.

Great day for Titan Track. Both boys and girls brought home the championship from Deshler. Congrats!

The Kindergarten classes just finished their unit about plants. They learned about the plant cycle, the types of trees & about pollination. To conclude, today they visited with one of Mrs. Eickman's classes at the school's greenhouse to take a tour and plant their own grass and flowers. We are looking forward to our plants sprouting in the next few weeks & are hoping for our grass to grow long enough to mow! ✂️🌱

🏀 When preschool kids dunk too hard the welding kids get to put their skills to use on fixing things for them. 🧑🏭

These preschoolers completed their Handwriting Without Tears workbooks. They worked hard all year on these. They earned a new book from the book vending machine!

First grade completed our fairytale unit in reading. Students learned about the elements in a fairytale and enjoyed getting to become a character from one of the stories we read. The students did a great job of creating their own back drops and performing for the kindergarten students. 👑🏰

Seniors finish their foods and nutrition unit by planning, shopping and cooking a meal.

Cole, Colton, Brighton, and Brady were not able to win their building challenge on Friday at SkillsUSA. They were however able to give up some of their time to help an 84 year old war veteran that was having car trouble just outside of Fonner Park! It was a very proud moment to hear them all say that we should stop and help, and to watch them jump into action. We were able to help this gentleman travel to an auto mechanic that was able to aid him further from there.
