2nd grade had a blast celebrating their learning about Westward Expansion. We made quilts reflecting our learning and mini covered wagons. We also had a visit from Ranger Doug from the Homestead National Monument who presented the Buffalo Trunk.

The Senior Career/Life Skills class took part in a self-defense class this week and learned some basic escape techniques. Michael (Thayer Central Alum) & Christy Hawkins, who own the Hebron Jiu Jitsu & MMA gym, demonstrated some different escape strategies that people can utilize when they find themselves in scary situations. Students had the ability to partner with another student and learn how to apply these techniques on one another. This was a great learning opportunity for our students! Thank you Michael & Christy!
Congrats to the Speech team on their 3rd place team finish at the SNC meet this past weekend! A special congrats to the medalists: Nora Peithman, Mackenzie Hergott & Peyton Fangmeier -5th in OID, Mackenzie – 4th in POI, Macy Heitmann & Nora – 5th in Duet, Deklann Daharsh & Riley Farnstrom– 3rd in duet, Deklann – 3rd in Entertainment, and Riley – 1st in Entertainment!

The junior class attended SCC Lincoln Discovery Days and had the opportunity to see all of the programs offered. They also had a campus tour as well as a tour of the dorm! The Health Sciences building and the top notch welding facility were definite highlights of the day!
