The Thayer Central Speech Team competed at District Speech today. We placed third as a team overall and came home with medals from eight events. We are so proud of all of our competitors for a great season, and want to wish a special CONGRATULATIONS to our 4 State Qualifiers! Dekalnn Daharsh in Entertainment, Kara Hartley in Entertainment and Persuasive, Adam Lukert in Informative Speaking, and Elle Sudbeck in Poetry.

We had an awesome day at the Fairbury Speech Invitational this last Saturday. The Thayer Central Speech team finished second overall out of 20 teams, bringing home the Runner-Up trophy! For all students interested in cheer, there will be an informational prospective parent's meeting in the Titan Event Center on Thursday, March 7th at 6:30 p.m. All students and parents are encouraged to attend. We will discuss all tryout information as well as answer any questions you have about the upcoming season. For all students who are unable to attend, there will also be an informative meeting for students only on Monday, March 18th at 6:30 a.m. All students interested are encouraged to attend. Help us celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America this week. The library invites students to participate in the school wide spirit days. The Scholastic Book Fair will also be at TC this week.

The fourth grade finished up their 'Recorder Karate" unit in music class! If you need some music at your upcoming wedding, some of them can even play the Wedding March 🙂
