Happy School Nurse Day Staci Hergott. Thank you for everything you do for our students at Thayer Central.
Spanish 2 and 3 students from Thayer Central were able to use some of what they learned during the school year to order food, drinks, and interact with each other and the servers at 3 Compadres during Cinco de Mayo. It was great to see them use their classroom knowledge in a real life situation for their final projects. Thank you to the staff at 3 Comapadres for having us!
Preschool enjoyed visiting the FFA greenhouse to finish learning about plants and flowers.
The Elementary Career Fair was held on Monday. Students heard about several careers in healthcare as well as careers in soil conservation and robotics. Thanks to our area business partners for sharing their talents.
Senior Life Skills students took turns helping change a tire. They also looked under the hood to see where different fluids are located and to find the spare in a newer vehicle. Several thought this was all best left to a professional!
Congratulations to Brendan Kunc! He set the JH pole vault record today at the Tri County meet with a vault of 10' 7"!

REMINDER of Sports Physicals being offered at Thayer County Health Services THIS Wednesday, May 7th. Thayer Central Schools will provide transportation to and from the appointment. Paperwork and payments MUST accompany each student athlete!

Thayer Central juniors and seniors were recognized by the Fairbury Elks Club for their academic achievements. Honored were juniors Brady Degenhardt, Izzy Escritt, Carson McLaughlin, and Murphy Sudbeck. Seniors recognized were Kara Hartley, Libby Hergott, Halle Johnson, and Adam Lukert. Lukert also received the Elks Club Most Valuable Student Award and the Legacy Scholarship.
Congrats to Piper H. for re-setting her school record in Long Jump with a 17'9" effort!
It was a great night celebrating our student athletes at our NSAA awards night.

The Thayer Central Youth Track and Field meet will take place on Sunday, May 18. Information will be sent home next week.
REMINDER: The Thayer Central Athletics and Activities Banquet is tomorrow night. Meal for students will begin at 6:15, Awards starting at 7:00 in the Titan Event Center. The awards portion is open to the public. Please use the High School entrance for the event.
