Miss Wiedel's 2nd graders enjoyed a visit from their pen pal. Our pen pal is a match from the Ag in the Classroom Program through the Nebraska Farm Bureau. Miss Wiedel has made this a part of her classroom for over 20 years. This year's pen pal lives near Palisade, Nebraska. We were so glad that Tessa & Anna Stinson could teach us about their ag operation. Tessa taught us a great Farm Bureau lesson about chickens. We listened to a book and enjoyed activities to gain knowledge and understanding. Each student also made a bracelet to help them remember what they learned. We had 3 lucky prize winners to special agriculture questions related to our lesson. Thank you to NE Farm Bureau & Stinson Land & Cattle for reminding us how LUCKY we are to be surrounded by dedicated, hardworking farmers and ranchers along with abundant resources. We encourage everyone to thank a farmer or rancher this week as we celebrate National Agriculture Week- March 15-21, 2026.
